Build a Morse code device that can send messages to others!
Ever had to ask somebody to repeat something because it didn’t sound clear enough the first time? There’s a reason games of ‘Chinese Whispers’ and ‘Telephone’ often breed comical results. In this exercise, students not only explore the differences between analog and digital communications, but also develop their understanding of encoding. Students build a Morse code device, send instructions to each other and compare their results against messages spread only through whispers.
